Grants, November 2021

At the meeting on 23 November, the Board of Directors granted about DKK 2,385t for employee purposes (99 grants for unfortunate events and 41 educational grants for employees’ children), and about DKK 465t to 25 local non-profit projects.

The Board of Directors granted about DKK 956t to ten senior clubs. On the occasion of the foundation’s 30th anniversary, the senior clubs were awarded double funding this year so that members can continue their activities, which provide unity and pride.

Finally, the Board of Directors granted almost DKK 15 million to six projects within the special funding programme, Green Areas and Outdoor Life, which is made possible by an anniversary gift from the VILLUM FONDEN. Several projects are in a phase where applications are now processed and qualified, and at the moment it seems that the Board of Directors can decide on the last projects in the programme at its meeting in spring 2022. After this, there is an exciting phase of realising the projects in the different countries to the potential benefit of many employees.

INCREASE OF CORONAVIRUS EMERGENCY FUND

We are happy to announce that the emergency fund for corona-related applications has been boosted with yet another generous grant from VKR Holding. The emergency fund now amounts to DKK 6 million (before tax) to support any employee, regardless of seniority, affected by the consequences of the corona virus beyond those within the employer’s responsibility.

The Employee Foundation has unique possibilities to bring consolation in an extremely difficult situation unlike anything we have ever tried.

We would like to make it very clear that all employees and their immediate families, who are tested positive for the corona can receive a grant as an encouragement. Even with only mild symptoms, the illness may create anxiety and stress, and the Employee Foundation wants to recognise this by a grant.

Do you have queries, please do not hesitate to contact your local recommendation committee or the Employee Foundation secretariat employee@vkr-holding.com. Send your online application by https://vkr.onlinelegat.dk/brugerlogon.aspx?bruger

VOLUNTARY WORK – NEW GRANT AREA

Many families across the world cannot afford a decent home. They live in overcrowded and unhealthy conditions without hope for the future of having a decent home.

In 2020, the Employee Foundation launches a brand-new initiative, where employees in the VKR Group can help poor families build their own home. All you need is to volunteer to do a week’s work and help build a home!

In collaboration with Habitat for Humanity, a leading international housing NGO, we give employees in the VKR Group the possibility of making a difference for poor families by building hope and homes.  Read here for more information.
